Heh, he left for a reason and he's selling this for a reason. He found something else ... but damn, that is one amazing car and I learned a lot about engines reading what he'd done.

He'd like to know what people would be willing to pay for his car.

what are you in cahoots with him MP? Why can't slickman come back and entertain his own car offers?

Cahoots? LOL. He's not posting here but has emailed me. I didn't check that email account a few days ago when he asked me to make a post about his car.

Slickman is still welcome to post his own posts here. He left on his own accord, and he can return on his own accord. I started to move the thread to the for sale section, but thought I would leave it here because Slickman has been a valuable member of this forum for a long time, and has lots of friends here who may be able to help him out. I suppose if you are interested in purchasing Slickman's car, you need to email him and ask what the asking price is.

He could probably get a noob to dish out >20k. In my book, I would say 17 to 18,500 max.

You restomod guys already know you aren't going to get out of it what you put into it. The market for a restomod early Mustang is fairly slim compared to modern used cars and original restored classics. Average folks just are not in tune with paying that kind of money for a 40 year old car with parts on it they don't understand. So yeah, if he could get that, then yay for him.

Glen Glen Glen, pick up last months Car Craft that has an article about the "clone market" and how aftermarket-modded classics are going in excess of 10-15% more than what they have been going for in the past. I see restomods going for upwards of 15k+ all the time at GoodGuys. It IS hard to break even given that aftermarket parts tend to cost a pretty penny, but that doesn't mean some of these cars can't go for upper 10's. it's happening....

20K is probably a bit optimistic, I'll bet he has MORE than that in it. He mentions nothing in his ad about the condition of the chassis. Is there any new metal in the car for instance, were floor pans done etc. If the car is totally rust free with nice paint, interior and a brand new engine I think it'll sell for close to 20K. Too bad it isn't a fastback, it would sell for more.
