What years did they have the Mustang Boss?

Default What years did they have the Mustang Boss?
Was it only in 1969, 71, and 72? What year did they stop making them?

Though the Boss 351 itself was discontinued, the engine lived for a few months in the '72 models.

Sort of....... Can't remember the guys name so I will call him "some Ford executive" had Roush drop a 500ish cube fuel injected Boss 429 based motor in a 94 or 95. As I remember the article it was in response to "some GM executive" that had a Rat shoved in a Camero. I just glazed back over that article a couple of days ago. I think it was in Mustangs & Fords or Mustang Monthly. It was a "One off" car just meant for "some Ford executive" to one up the GM guy.


p.s. I am sure that "some Ford executive" won the contest.

1972 351 R code (but official this is not a BOSS)

speaking of bosses, I saw something in mustang monthly a while back talking about new boss shinadoas or something... anyone else read those articles?

There was a limited run of Boss Mustangs in 94...but they were only a stripe kit. Larry Shinoda is the guy who's name is associated with the Boss.

1972 351 Q code (but officially this is not a BOSS)

The dealers where still putting the BOSS 351 decals on the early 72's but then changed them to the Mach-1 decals.

My 72 Q code had the BOSS 351 decals on the fenders, the car still has the factory 351 CJ w/hurst 4spd. Eng. HP rated at 280hp. My car has been repainted & Im in the process of putting the orignal BOSS 351 decals and sport stripes back on the car..
