Default Look what I did last weekend

Hi Guys,

sorry its off topic Soaring, but a few of the guys suggested I post a photo...

Mt Buller Sprint - 3rd in Classic
Classic Adelaide Rally - 1st in class, 2nd in category and 7th outright. Not bad for a 26 year old Australian Car up against the Porsches.

the pic is from the prologue at Classic Adelaide where you go for a run around part track, part closed public roads half a mile from the cbd to determine starting order in the event.

The second is the finish of the Mt Lofty stage. Koni suspension set a little too firm for a road event!

cheers

Not a problem with it being off-topic Ben. I just expected a Mustang in the pics.

lol, yeh I wanted to do this to my Mustang as well, but the cost to prep a car to compete seriously is just way too expensive.

There are about 10 Mustangs in the whole of Australia who are set up for tarmac rally. THat's actually a pretty good representation as there are only about 200 cars in the country in Classic Competition and 100 are Porsches.

Here is a pic of one of my favourites Soaring. I have asked this guy to sell it to me so many times that he now greets me with "no, f**k off!!" every time I see him. If he ever said yes I'd be stuffed anyway. I'd have to sell the wife and kids to get it!

Steve McQueen would be proud!

Great shots! don't think I'd want to do either of those poses with a stock Mustang!

here's a couple more for Soaring (and anyone else who's interested!)

Just to show Mustangs can get wheels off too!

Would anyone like to race a genuine 1965 GT40? It is a Gulf chassis, but did not race at LeMans. Even still, its worth $2mill. It has tiny brakes on it, so he isnt able to push as hard as he'd like. However, on the start line it blows blue flames out the exhaust as he puts about 7000rpm into it for a launch. THe noise is unbelievable. He won his class and category and finished about 15th outright.

The DeTomaso beat us by 5 seconds over 10 miles at Mt Buller. It is armed with a 427. Seriously quick. Exhaust rumble is so deep it sounds like a squadron of tanks rolling into town.
