So, I'm the proud owner of a matching-numbers 1969 Mustang!

I'm getting prepared to start the restoration--but alas, I'm historically a GM guy and most of my work has been on Camaros and Chevelles.

Where does a Ford guy go for his parts? I'm used to places like Rick's First Generation, and Classic Industries for Camaro stuff. What about for Mustangs?

Thanks!!
-brian

Ah, didn't even think of NPD! I put the other two on my list.

There will be some interesting looks as people go by my garage. There's a '68 Camaro and now the '69 Stang sitting side by side. I think they have brawls when I turn the lights out at night!

Ahah.. I bet it does too. It's bigger than the Camaro, for some reason I didn't see that until they were side by side. Probably because the Stang gets away with so much more from those aggressive lines.

The Mustang's not a whole lot to look at yet, we just picked her up this week from a guy's mother who had owned it since it was new (!!). Needs paint, and some interior work but for being a 37-year old survivor... it's in *great* condition. Zero rust, and completely intact body. On top of that, a matching numbers 351 Windsor, it even turns over on the first crank!

I'll back them both out a bit and snap some pictures when the sun comes up a bit.

Welcome from another Chevy owner who also recently bought a numbers matching 68 Mustang coupe. I'm not biased, I like many different classic cars. I've begun to find that you can still get quite a bit of stuff from the local auto parts store, unlike my truck where the only thing I can get locally is tires. From now on, I'm going to check with a regular parts store first. There's also a guy in my town who restores Mustangs and sells parts for less than most of the on-line parts places plus if he has the part in stock, I can have it that day. In additon to the other sites already mentioned, there's Virginia Mustangs. I've gotten parts from John's Mustangs before as well. I would rate the quality of the parts I got as average to below average. I've got some parts on order from Mustang's Plus; we'll see how that turns out.
