AOD Trani wiring
Came acrossed a aod trani and wanted to put it in my 67, currently I have a c-4 trani and was wondering with the aod what wires go where, or if I can just bypass the whole wiring, it is a 4 wire harness coming off the trani. If anyone has any idea let me know thanks. Mitch

RE: AOD Trani wiring
If you can find a car that came with an AOD, such as a Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, or Town Car and get the plug off the end of the harness, the color codes are the same and you can just splice it in. Some AOD trannys came with a 5th wire for the fasten seat belts light.

Yes I pulled the rest of the harness from a 80's mustang, problem is I don't know where those extensions go, it goes all the way up to the dash in that mustang and that is where I had to cut it. What are the 4 wires and can I bypass them, and if not where can I find info on what each wire has to be sent to. Thanks

Ok so seeing that it is for neutral safety and back up lights I think I can bypass the whole thing, seeing I don'tm have a neutral safety, and my back up lights are not wired to my trani. Does that seem right.

RE: AOD Trani wiring
Your original has a half circle plastic assembly on the trans that does the same thing. I dont recomend running the car without the safety switch connected....I ran without it and had the car jump at startup once (in gear).

RE: AOD Trani wiring
I don't have any wires coming off my trani on my c-4 currently. If i do decide to go without the safety switch can I just leave the wiring harness diconnected and run. This is how I am currently and I have never made the mistake of starting it in gear, hope won't jink myself now. Thanks

RE: AOD Trani wiring
From what I have looked at I am pretty sure, nothing leads me to think it is. Not sure how to be a 100% positive though.
