I haven't mounted mine yet, but I got the 17" fan after searching the net. It is "supposed" to fit.

Because it draws more power from my engine than my flex fans. I dropped 200 rpm at idle by just installed electrics. Plus, they're heavier and don't do a better job of cooling, as long as you have a good system, that is.
OEM's went electric for ease of packaging. They can alter the radiator's angle and not worry about the fan placement and creating a huge fan shroud.
