well you kinda took a plunge in when it ripped halfway off, by now you van either continue taking the rest off, or weld some new metal in. i myself wont be doing the hassle of taking them off, i am just not going to put the chrome back on and i am going to keep the rail

i dont really have the choice....but okay. anyways, it appears to be working very well. the passenger side is done and im finishing the driver side....

I hope you are taking lots of PICTURES! I may be in the same boat. Mine are in pretty bad shape, but are still attached. I may remove or just putty the hell out of them so lets see some pics.
