Default Good Reading Material?

I 'm looking to get a book to assist me in fixing an repairing some small odds and ends in my '68 Coupe. My question is should I just buy a Ford Repair manuel for 1968 or is there something better? i do have some knowledge of auto repair, i spent two years in the secondary auto motive program at the tech school here in town, but i m fairly new to mustangs. any ideas would be great. thanks

get the shop manual, good reading, especially in the man room when you don't have a mustang mag sitting w/in reach. Hell the man room is where I did most of my studying for promotion tests

I'm not a professional mechanic, but I found the 68 Mustang/Cougar/etc. Shop Manual to be less helpful than other shop manualsthat I have. That doesn't mean it won't help, but it might not provide you with everything that you want. I wonder if they have a build manual, which should be more usefull for body work/reassembly.

they do have body and interior assembly manuals http://mustangsunlimited.com/SubCat....atKey=EMUSTANG
and electrical assembly manuals chassis manuals, and engine assembly mannuals...just look it up, all the parts houses carry them.
I just read stuff and dream about what I am going to do when I get a garage

wonder if it's all that different from the chiltons I have. I got the chiltons first and read it from cover to cover, then I started buying the more indebth stuff to read. Ohh and the mustang mags I subscribe to, man it seams like I read them at least two to three times a month. I often go back and read old articles after I see something on the forum that peaks my interest.

I have a factory service manual and a Chilton's. The FSM blows away everything for detail on repair for a specific year Mustang. It is about 2" thick and has very detailed instructions and illustrations to the model, not generalized across 9 model years like the Chilton's. I also have the FSM for my Jeep TJ and had one for my old '85 GT (about 5 manuals) and all are very detailed. If you do a lot of work on your vehicle, there is no substitute for a good FSM.
