And throw those Fram filters as far away as you can and get yourself either a Wix or Motorcraft filter.

I use WIX now as the FLAP stocks them and they are only a buck or so more than the Fram oil filters at Kragan, etc.

In a similar incident, my boss's daughter called to tell him that the oil light came on in the family's Accord that she was driving. It seems that the oil filter itself had blown out at the seam coating the engine bay with the oil that was supposed to be in the engine. Fortunately, she had enough sense to pull over immediately and shut the engien off. I don't know what type of filter they had on there, but the oil was last changed at a quickie lube place. I convinced my wife that she should never take her Cobra to a quickie lube when I changed the oil and showed her the difference between the WIX oil filter I bought and the no name one that was on there. The WIX filter was about twice as long as the one that was on there from the quickie lube.

I have a Wix in right now. The last one I had awas a Bosch and I was happy with it mostly because it was black and matched my engine... But it seemed to do its job too.

I've seen hwat you described twice already from people putting the new oilfilter in with a wrench instead of hand tight.
You might get rid of the oil leak with cat sand. No idea what's called in english. The stuff you get for a cat to throw in a cats box she can p1ss in.
My mother did that once when I was living back home and it worked wonders. At least better than nothing

We Americans call it kitty litter. I learned as a young man to put some oil on the gasket of the filter, and only put it on hand tight.
