Default Save a Marriage - Quiet Muffler

I really need to find a muffler that approximates the sound of the NEW Mustang GT's or Shelby's. All the soundclips on Soaring site are too loud to keep the peace with my significant other. And to be honest, I much prefer the quiet, serious tone of the new Mustangs.

The problem is that I cannot find a muffler that will fit a 65/66 without big sound. Any sugestions?

just about all of the parts dealers have stock type replacements. Your best bet is to go to a muffle shop have him clamp a few different ones on so you can hear the difference.

Decent set of California turbo mufflers would probably do the trick.

I would recomend Dynomax Super turbos. I just removed the Flowmasters from my Daily driver 69 Camaro and replaced them with the Dynomax and just love them. The still have a realhealthy sound but are 20 times quieter than the Flowmasters. heck... I can even talk on my cell phone while going down the highway now and actully hear the other person By the way the car has 2 1/2" pipe all the way out the back of the car.

Well I put the cheapie Summit mufflers under the GTO, it has 3" pipes that end right ahead of the rear end, and its a healthy 455 with headers.. its unbearbly loud uncorked. Well with the $19 3" in and out muffs you can not only have a conversation inside the car, but you dont have to yell and the radio can be heard on low volume.. best part is they are cheap. they arent stainless or anything, but they have lasted quite a while under my cars..

had them on the race car too.. ran high 11s with them so they dont take that much power away. They will fit under the Cougar, infact the old race car system is goin under it, so they should fit yours without too much trouble..

Everyone loves the way the GTO sounds at idle and under power, get compliments all the time on it.. usually in traffic.
