Default 289 smoking

I have a 66 mustang which i believe has the original 50,000 miles on the odometer. The Engine smokes alot to have low miles like that. It's a white smoke so i know it's not blowing oil by the pistons. It does have a remanufactured ford carb. on it. I'm not familar with ford motors and hope somebody can help. Thanks

I don't know, the motor has the original coil, battery cables, etc. etc. it also has the little metal tag on the manifold with the engine numbers on it. It has also sat for 11 years before I got it.

Sounds like the valve seals are just dry rotted and leaking

White smoke is caused by water. You most likely have a head gasket leaking water into the top of your piston. Before I would do anything major, I'd replace the head gasket and see if that stops it. You will also see a loss of water in your radiator if this is the problem. Worn oil rings and valve seats will produce a gray or even black smoke if it is burning oil. Also, check your spark plugs. If they are gray, then you are not burning oil.

White smoke indicates coolant is entering the combustion chamber. Could be caused by blown head gasket, cracked block or cracked cylinder head.

Head gasket(s). Could also be carb adjustment. Leaning more towards the gasket(s) though.
