HP, quarter mile est. needed
Sup guys
My grandfather and I just got a 66 w/ a 289 @88,000 miles. Its in ok condition but we're gonna completely restore it. I would like to have it around 350 hp, and low13's on the strip w/ the 289. Is this feasible? What about intake, exhaust, headers, cam and bigger carb? Where will that get me in terms of hp and strip times?? Thanks

yea thats feasable, look into a performer rpm cam, intake, carb kit from summit on the cheap, and some good exhaust that should get you up to 300ish hp, with some drag radials and gears you'd be looking at 13's ... prolly need headwork to get into the low 13's or better.

What about the transmision? I assume you wont use the stock c4 or anything right? You lose so much power in those things, a stock 289 rated at 225hp will only put like 140-150 to the wheels
