Default Phenolic spacer (with PICS)

Where can I get a 1" phenolic spacer to place underthe carb?

Is it a quick bolt on process? If not, can anybody provide install info??

Thanks

Just google "Phenolic" and you will get lots of hits. Just take the carburetor off and slip it on then replace the carb. Easy as pie. You will notice a tad more horsepower because the swirling effect of the gas/air mixture has a little more time before detonation. You'll also notice a cooler carb and less incidents of vapor lock.

Are these what I am looking for? How to determine which to use, I dont see any indications or is it based on the carb you have?

That link isn't good. You need to determine which to use by the carb you have. Find the one you want and go to "applications" or just go to the home page and narrow it down by clicking on your car.

I havea 289 , with a 4v Edelbrock carb.

which will be best:

EDL-8711 - phenolic- $31.95
SUM-G1405 - phenolic - $ 29.95
SUM - G1412 - platic - $13.95

All 3 call for a 4v square bore.

Is this something a local Autozone would carry or is it best to go through Summit?

dont forget to grab longer carb studs when purchasing a spacer

from what i gather, an open spacer is going to raise your powerband of the intake a little compared to a 4 hole spacer - it kinda acts like the plenum divider notch on the airgap intakes

OK, as you are probably aware, not all phenolic spacers are built alike. You need to get one specifically for that model of Edelbrock carb you have. Call the tech line at Edelbrock and ask them which phenolic spacer you need and where to get one specifically for your model of Edelbrock carb. 1-800-416-8628
