Default Edelbrock shocks

Here's the story. I purchased Edelbrock IAS shock absorbers in Oct. of 2003 when I had completely restored the undercarriage of my 68 coupe. These things were almost $280 for all four. Jump ahead to May 2007 I finally found someone to paint the car. The car has not been driven til now bacause of the restoration and moving. Any way the rear end never acted right so I jerked the Edelbrocks out, and one is defective. Jump ahead 4 weeks later and I ask the guys at Advance (who sell these things but I bought from Summit) why when I hit a small bump it rattles my teeth? They suggested puting in a cheaper shock to see if that helps, I installed some KYB's at $25 each this morning and it was like night and day. It's so smooth now. Has anyone experienced this problem? I waited awhile because I thought they just needed to be broke in since I didn't drive the car until 2007.

my buddy put those shocks on his camero and he hated the ride also! he said it was like a solid shock.... he yanked them out put them on ebay and put some oreily's brand on there and like it better also! i dont know much more about that i thought he maybe just got a bad deal but i guess not.

I personally like the KYB GR-2s with 620 springs. The ride is smoother and the handling is still good.

I like my ias shocks...I only have them in the front however. I thought the ride soften considerably over the kyb gas adjusts that I pulled out.

James next time we have the cars together, we'll have to do a ride comparison.
I'm KYB's & Progressive rate front springs.

Do you have the GR2s or the Gas-Adjust?

I've never heared of that, I am a koni guy but have used the IAS shocks in other apps and they had a real nice ride, much better than a kyb gas adjust which I think have a crappy ride other than with stock springs. What springs are you running?
