Default wheels and tires

Hi everyone! I am new to the Mustang world so I am hoping someone can answer this question? Will wheels and tires from a 2008 mustang fit my 1970 Mustang coupe with drum brakes all around without any problems? The size of the 2008 wheelsare 17 inch and the size on the 1970 are 14? Obviously height may be an issue but the tires on the 2008 are low profile but I am not sure of the bolt pattern is the same? Thanks!

Default RE: wheels and tires

You will have to get alot of spacers to make those fit. I think the stock backspacing on the 70 is 4.5" and on the 05+ are 5.75. So the new ones will be recessed into the wheel wells and I don't know if they will clear the drums. Due to the cost of the spacers and how the large amount of spacing will affect your ride quality I wouldn't advise it. But yes the bolt pattern is the same.
