Radio advice
I'm about to have a stereo system installed on my classic (disc-changer, etc...).
I don't like the models they sell on the Mustang shops, IMO, they suck.
I want a good quality radio.
The thing is that it won't fit on the existing radio cutout on the metal dash...and I do NOT want to cut to fit...NO WAY.
So I'm going for a hidden radio inside the glove box, CD changer inside the trunk.
The problem is that I don't want that radio dash cutout to just be empty.
Are there any decoy radios that could fit in there?
Should I leave it as is, bare?
Or should I try and find a cheap original non-working radio and place it there?
Am I making any sense here?

RE: Radio advice
Personally, I'd put a standard nonfunctional radio in the dash. And good job on figuring out that Classic Autosound stuff is horrible Jensen and I think Panasonic make some better stuff that fits, but it's still not going to be on par with a real deck.

Either that or a radio delete, plate.

RE: Radio advice
I have the Secret Audio and love it, have it in 2 classics. Not sure why people say it sucks.
In the Mustang I had the original radio disconnected, have the SA in the glove box and the CD changer is velcroed down in the trunk (I won't allow drilling).
In the Firebird I pulled the cheapie aftermarket piece of crap radio and found an original on eBay. It's not hooked up. The SA is in the glove box and I'm having the CD player put into the trunk -- again, no drilling.
I like the stock look so for me, buying an original was a no-brainer.

RE: Radio advice
What is the Secret Audio setup? Is Classic Autosound the same company in the FAQ that will put modern internals in my old radio?
I don't want a CD changer (or CD anything for that matter) just an iPod input. I really don't want to put a radio in the glove box either. Am I destined to sing to myself?
