Default Good Resto?

i currently have a opportunity to buy a '72 mustang grande. its a bare shell im planning on sending it to be chemically dipped and cleaned. so i can do the metal work myself. what are some things to look for in doing this. and what parts should be solid if considering a good resto car. i have posted some pics

if u have the money id do both acid bath first then blasting but if u can only do one id go with blasting just because it will blast of little chunks of rust so you can really tell how deep your in, for the cowl id check here http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...department.htm

thanks ill keep all that in mind. i just thought dipping in a acid bath would be better that way nothing is missed paint and rust wise. or am i mistaken?

the acid works good and gets rid of a lot of paint and rust, but the the sand blasting will get rid of every little rust spots so you can little pin holes in your floor bords if you had any rust at all, but acid is fine but if your a perfectionist then id go with both.

both have there pros and cons from pricey to i heard the acid will weaken the metal not sure if its true tho.media blasting is cheaper i had my 68 one with crushed wall nut shells there was a couple spots i had to dolly and hammer smooth but those where in the firewall ford left a wrinkle in my firewall.

I hope that when you're buying that car in the photos...it comes with several boxes of parts. The problem with 71-73s is that all the little brackets and frackets are not reproduced as much or as cheaply as the 65-68 parts. You may find that the rust work is the cheap part...
