Default Looking for Headers with no Interference

I'm looking for headers for a 1966 fastback being built for the streettargeting low end power. None of the mods I have planed for theoriginal 289will change the outside dimensions. Aftermarket aluminum heads and inlet manifold, new cam, etc.

The four speed is coming out and I'm going with a cable clutch on a T5. I have removed all of the front suspension and steering and will replace it with a Total Control rack and pinion and coil-over. Getting rid of the original equalizer bar and using TCP's slick universal joints on the steering shaft should give me plenty of room for headers. However, I have heard that some shorty headers interfere with the shock towers. I really don't feel like modifying the shock towers.

I am willing to consider any header that would fit. Any suggestions?

If budget is not too much of an issue, I went with a hydraulic clutch kit on my T5 and I love it. Money well spent. Then any header you can find should fit for sure.

I have some JBA mid length headers on my '65 fastback with cable clutch and they fit great. They are spendy but it sounds like you are planning some other expensive mods so these should fit in with those plans nicely.

Good luck!
