Default 351w problem in 65

The oil pan hooked on the 351w hits the suspension and doesnt allow the engine to be put in place. I think the windsor maybe an 84, anybody experienced this problem?

Just buy a milodan oil pan, for the chassis shape and the 351w. That's the easiest sollution, really. I mean, I guess you could try to 'massage' the pan, but, i'd rather spend the money, and buy a nice pan. They are very sturdy.

When you say hooks on the suspension, are you referring to the steering linkage and/or the bolt-on crossmember? You do have a front sump pan, correct? If so and you are barely hitting the crossmember, you can space it down a bit. If you're into the steering, it sounds like you'll need to use the taller '66+ mounts which sit the engine about an inch higher.

Good luck!

No, they aren't the same pan. Sounds like you left the rear sump pan on the 351. You need the front sump, like the 65.

You will need a pan and a new pick-up for your oil pump.

I have a 351 pan that is in pretty good shape if you are on a tight budget...
