the neons are great, ive broke down at night and needed alight but didnt have 1 and they were just professionally rewired when i had the rest of the car rewired ( there never on when im driving or when the cars running

Time, age, moisture, ESD (electrostatic discharge), faulty part, poorly sodered connections, improper voltage running through fried it. All sorts of things.
A big mechanical relay like these solenoids isn't going to be taken out by ESD (unless you are talking about a bolt of lightning as ESD). Even an EMP probably wouldn't do the job.

What probably kills most of them is contact arcing or an open in the windings. The heat and vibration of being mounted in the engine compartment don't really help things either.

when i get the money im just going to get a new battery and solenoid and hope it doesnt happen again
