what causes a starter solenoid to go bad?
ive been doing alot of body work, and carb work, so my car hasnt been running for like a month, i finished my carb and engine work yesterday and got it started after i charged my battery. but today i went to start it to drive it downt he street to my friends house to he could do the bondo and prime it, but it wouldnt start? i could hear a buzzing sound coming from then solenoid, and my car just got rewired so i was wondering what would cause it to fail

Time, age, moisture, ESD (electrostatic discharge), faulty part, poorly sodered connections, improper voltage running through fried it. All sorts of things.

no its not low, i charge often cause when its not running much i have my neon lights on so i can do work cause my lighting in my garage sucks, and it drains the battery pretty fast, the battery is 2 years old so i might as well get a new 1

Id throw them neon lights away every ones i seen used in a car or bike the transformer shorts out and starts a fire leds are safer and last alot longer.Or go to sears and buy a 20 dollar drop light.
