If you clean off all the rust and everything and prep it right, that might actually be a good idea, should keep it from rusting ever again, not to mention protect it from road crap

i think it would be a real good idea. as long as its preped right it should last forever and do a real good job protecting it. if i had the money i would definately consider doing it.

I don't know about rhino underneath. I'm not sure how it deals with temps from the exhaust. Also it wouldn't be the easiest to clean being sticky and porous. I would go with line-x, much better material, it has been blast tested and approved by the Air Force. I have a friend who also put rhino in his F250 bed and thats the reason he started a line-x shop. Just a much better material. It washes much easier, nothing sticks to it, incredibly hard to damage, doesn't stain and doesn't melt. Rhino does all those things. Just seeing them side by side and experienced with both line-x makes rhino look like junk. If you are in NJ I know my friend has been jumping at the chance to spray a classic, he was going to spray the underside of mine when I was done but I had to move. Lifetime warranty at any shop, rhino doesn't do that either, only the shop you got sprayed at.

The line-x is definetly a superior product. I just used hurculiner in a jeep tub and it goes on very thin bu thas alot of grip. The line-x I think would also be a good sound deadner. I am thinking about doing it to the inside of my car when the time comes. I would just do the underside in a good gloss single stage. Should be easy to clean and hold up fairly well.

I really like the idea of having protection underneath but if i can't find a good way to go about it ill prob just paint it black.

You could POR-15 it. It will take care of any rust you miss, seal the underside, and its tough thick paint so it will protect the underside as well.
