so, i'll be yanking heads and drilling steam holes in the block it looks like (and gaskets if the holes aren't there). talk about a bunch of crapola...... but it gives me a great reason to throw some rhodes lifters in there and bring my idle vacuum up not to mention make more power off the line.

i need to scrounge cash, does anyone need a stainless braided lokar kickdown cable for a C4 in excellent condition?

ORIGINAL: valley firearms

Are they selling the Pro Ports assembled?

Just bare from the few places I've seen on the net. Them things is so new they're not even listed on Edelbrock's head section on the site yet, and everyone who has them listed has them as "Bare, new part, call for pricing." You could try calling Edelbrock direct and seeing if you can get them assembled from the factory. My guess is it prolly uses all the same hardware as the regular RPM heads. It's just the ports anc chambers that I different from what I understand.

ok, well i figured i'd update this thread and let everyone know the progress. i tore everything down this afternoon, taped everything off to prevent shavings from getting in the motor, and marked / drilled the holes in the block.

ok so everything is back together and i filled the system, let it "burp" and topped it off. drove to the corner gas station and back (my longest trip yet in the car since motor has been rebuilt) and when i got to the station there was about 1 cup of antifreeze that had came out the hose (i had a plastic cup wedged next to the radiator to see what i was spewing). on the way back, i only had about a tablespoon of water in the cup.

WTF? could it be something completely stupid like a thermostat? i swear if i just tore down half my motor and spent like 75 bucks in gaskets and oil for nothing i'm gonna be pissed [:@][:@]

drove it today about 10 miles, after 5 miles it had half a cup in the thing but when i let it sit it sucked it back in. im guessing i really just need a overflow bottle (still, i never had one before so WTF)

If you don't have an overflow, your radiator shouldn't be full. I run both of mine non-overflow-equipped vehicles about 4" below the cap without any heating issues.
