Frame Rail, Rad Support info
Just a quick question here. I've got the radiator support out, the battery tray apron out, the shock tower off (think I did a good enough job to reuse the old one) and the passenger side frame rail cut off. Now I've got all the parts preped and ready to go back on, what's the best way to do this etc.
Using all the measurements I made before cutting, should I be able to weld on the frame rail patch, then put on the rad support then the apron and shock tower. Or should I fab all the pieces up, make sure it's lined up and then weld them on?? If I should fab them all up first, how does one go about doing this??? Or any ideas to do so with only two hands???
Thanks

RE: Frame Rail, Rad Support info
You will need many vise grips/clamps. I had to use self tapping sheet metal screws to hold where the clamps could not reach. Then as you move down the line welding, where the crews were, weld up that hole. It would be good to weld it together while the clamps hold it tightly in place. I would probably weld the frame rail on first, then the other peices as they are clamped/screwedinto position. Make sure everything lines up with your measurements. Maybe even reference an export brace and monte carlo bar while you get it all back together again.

RE: Frame Rail, Rad Support info
Do the frame rail 1st.Use a LOT OF CLAMPS as you move along .You should also use self tapping screws to hold everything together and line everything up properly!!As you make your welds you remove the screws and weld the holes .Just make SURE all is in correct alignment before you totally weld it in! Its a lot easier to grind out a couple spot welds than it is to redo it if it is not correct. If you have all your measurements right you should have no problems!! Good luck.[8D]
