aftermarket hoods for 66 coupes
do they make any hoods besides the fiberglass cowl induction hoods for a '66 coupe?
if so, where can i find one?
i'm hoping they make metal hoods that have some kind of scoops built in the hood already but i can't seem to find any

RE: aftermarket hoods for 66 coupes
Like a Shelby scoop? If you want to bolt it to the hood and leave the seam around it like a modern car..it's a quick job. If you're wanting to blend it in and make it look like a fiberglas hood, then that's a little tougher. The metal and plastic heat/cool at different rates and over time, whatever you use to fill the seam will crack.

Hmm
maybe i'll end up taking the fiberglass hood to a shop and getting them to fit it
i REALLY like scoops/cowl induction over the stock hood but the fiberglass is a bad fit

I have seen the 67 shelby style hoods that are fiberglass but enforced with metal. That might be a little better.

easier hood pin installation and better, firmer closing. maintains shape a bit better too over just straight fiberglass

Check out Branda, he has a couple to select from. As stated before, the steel renforced is a better choice. Also, you will need to buy a set of hood springs designed for the lighter fiberglass hood, if you don't use a prop rod.
