Engine going back in question
I know when I removed the engine/trans (together) trans fluid poured out like crazy, and I expected that. I had a catchpan
But when it goes back in, I don't want it to, because it's all new and stuff. I checked with several autoparts houses, and none had any idea when i mentioned that "plug" for the rear of the trans. Any tips on how to keep it all in good working/non leaking order? Thanks guys, it's gettin close!!!

check page 197 in npd catalogue:

Plug, Trans Output Shaft
Prevent fluid loss all over your garage, driveway and/or
body during engine/transmission or driveshaft removal.
Don’t trust that old sandwich bag and kite string. Do it the
way the pro’s do with these handy plastic plugs that are
properly sized to fit within the seal and around the output
shaft for an easy leak free task.

1.7†OD, C-6, FMX, 65-66 C-4, BB 4sMT

Plug Set inc’s 5 plugs to fit 1â€-2.180†output shafts

or just don;'t fill the thing until its in if possible :-)

RE: Engine going back in question
There is oil in the new converter though, and I'm afraid it will find it's way out - the converter is supposed to stay "primed" so that was my concern.
Don't they have those plugs anywhere else but online? It would be a pain to order that and wait

Putting a plug in the tail shaft won't stop oil from flowing out of the converter. If you're concerned about it, just put a sandwich bag over the tail, there will be very little, if any, oil come out. It's oil in the pan you have to worry about.

Ah that's a good point - didn't think of that...
I guess I could get it all in there, let it settle a bit, check it, add some, start it, add some more, until it reaches the right level.
