Things to do while underdash?
Im currently tearing everything out from under my dash to get it down to bare framing. I plan to clean all the dirt out of there, fix any rust, patch (if need be, not necessary so far), and sound deaden. Anything else I should do while everything is dismantled?

RE: Things to do while underdash?
Lol, I just posted a thread the other day about finding my build sheet[8D]
I am definitly considering a new wiring harness as I just removed every wire from the car, but I need to go over it alittle bit more and inspect all the wires. It seems the wires themselves arent bad, just the cloth like material surrounding them (kinda like conduit). Not many splices either, so Ill see if it justifies buying an entire new harness or just rewrapping them up...
Anyone have advice on how to remove the ignition and headlight fixtures? I dont see any bolts holding them on there so how do I remove them...

The ingnition has a little pin hole, stick a paper clip or wire, turn the key and the cylinder will come out. Unscrew the bezel. The headlight **** pulls out. If your wiring harness is not all cut up, remove the old insulation, tape it in a few placesas you go just to keep it together and wipe it with lacquer thinner or something. Clamp one end in a vise and start wrapping it with electrical tape, stretching the tape as you wrap it. All you are trying to do is cover the wires, so overlap the minimum or it will be stiff.

headlight **** has a button on the switch behind the dash...gotta fish for it and press it to remove the ****
I would consider full rewire if you have the dash already disassembled. Are you just doing the dash or is the whole car in pieces?
I would def go relayed headlights but this is done from inside the engine bay anyway.

RE: Things to do while underdash?
Thanks for the directions, Ill try that tomorrow when I get time.
The car is a rolling chassis full-scale build up. The entire car is stripped down for the most part, but I am concentrating on this region becuase it seems to not have been touched over the years. The rest of the car has lots of new sheetmetal...
No headlights currently, but I have a set or two laying around...

Lol, healights arent that important for the time being. I want to get the drivetrain situated this year, and some other small things. Just trying to get her to run first. You name it, its getting replaced...
Lots of time, not so much money..
