RE: COBRAJET AND SHELBY CARB QUESTIONS
A buddy of mine told me years back to keep a hold of this carb, number one, because of the ford part number, number two, he thought it was a 428 police interceptor carb found in 67-68 GT500's prior to the introduction of the Cobra Jets??

RE: COBRAJET AND SHELBY CARB QUESTIONS
If the numbers prove it to be for a 390 motor, it's definately a 600. There is a Ford carburetor forum out there that may be able to give you exact information. You might want to try posting there. Even if it is for a 390, they are pretty desirable carbs. 735 or 600, it should look like this: http://www.428cobrajet.com/id-carb.html

RE: COBRAJET AND SHELBY CARB QUESTIONS
When you properly restore a car, You tend to put it back the way it was originally, which means, placing the correct carb atop a motor that has been assembled , with correct numbered heads, block, intake, rods, etc. Different strokes for Different folks,As for an old carb drying up, thats what rebuild kits are for.Old tech or not, we're all doin are own thing...Shawn

RE: COBRAJET AND SHELBY CARB QUESTIONS
Using that logic, the same could be said for old Mustangs.

An old carb is nothing more than an old carb. It is old technology. Get over it. Why would anyone want to store an old carb that will dry up and not be of any use to anyone?
