This site spelled it out for me on the 1970 CJ carb I have! This is what I Joined this forum For!! Thanks 69FECoupe!!

If the numbers prove it to be for a 390 motor, it's definately a 600. There is a Ford carburetor forum out there that may be able to give you exact information. You might want to try posting there. Even if it is for a 390, they are pretty desirable carbs. 735 or 600, it should look like this: http://www.428cobrajet.com/id-carb.html

Using that logic, the same could be said for old Mustangs.

An old carb is nothing more than an old carb. It is old technology. Get over it. Why would anyone want to store an old carb that will dry up and not be of any use to anyone?
I wasn't saying that numbered carb won't work on that engine, I was just saying that you can get a rebuilt carb later whenever you are ready for a carb. They are not a rare item at this point in time, so why store one and have to overhaul it later when overhaul kits are not available for that carb? Again, an old carb is nothing more than an old carb, no matter what the vintage. They can be replaced.

I hear you but I think you're missing the point here. It's not just a plain-Jane Holley. It doesn't look like a plain-Jane Holley and it's specific to certain models and engines. And they are getting scarse, especially for unmolested units. Sure it can be replaced with a new Holley or Edelbrock or whatever but it won't look the same or be correct. A few months ago on Ebay a correct two four barrel intake and carburetor set up for a 69 Z28 went for $29,000.00, that's twenty nine THOUSAND dollars. Just an old set of carburetors and intake?.... not to the guy who wanted a concourse correct car.
