Yeah it sounds about right. I remember mine came out easly by hand it didnt require excessive force. I dont remember any keepers on it.

I used my big red bering/ dent puller from Nappa. took a lot of force but came out

there is no way this thing just pulls out, there is deff something holding it in there,...there was just two of us pulling on it

LOL you sound burnt out on this thing the frustration level you have achieved will prevent forward progress @ this point, call it a day and try this weekend.
