67 GTA or Shelby?
I'm in the process of bringing back to life an old 67fastback I picked up a couple of years ago. It was originally a 390 gta. I'm having trouble making a decision on keeping it GTA or keep it a bit of a Shelby. A previous owner in the 80's came across a bunch of original shelby part and their still on it. I'm at the point with the restoration where I need to probably make a decision. it's got the rollbar, hood, decklid, scoops etc. Any opinions out there? I hate to waste all the Shelby parts. Of course there are not many of the gta's as well.

wow tough decision. im leaning towards the shelby. i like that one to begin with, and seems like you have most if it on the car already. and originaly shelby parts!?!??! awesome.
although i do like the 68 shelby hood better than the 67. but my vote is for the shelby,
anyone else?

+1, use the shelby parts to make a great GTA out of it. they were really cool cars. would love one ...
and on top of that everyone seems to be making eleanors out of every 67 they come across. they're great but why waste a great GTA ....
maybe make a poll out of it ;-)

I would think a real GTA would be worth more than a Shelby Clone.
I'm a big-time Shelby fan. But if I had a GTA, it'd have to stay as a GTA.
Since mine is a run-of-the-mill coupe, I'd like to someday add a Shelby package to it. If you restore it, I'd be interested in taking most of your Shelby parts off your hands (I won't be able to use the decklid).

Shelby has a great history with Ford and I love the Shelby history and everything that goes with it. But I would not turn an original GTA into a clone of any sort. Get aordinary mustangif you want to do that and keep what you have. What you have is something special too, an original GTA.
