piston question

Default piston question

im doing my first rebuild and theres scratches on the side of two of my pistons im assuming i need new ones i f i do get new ones will i have to get new connecting rods my rods look like there in good condition there not bent or anything thanks

I believe that most rebuild kits come with new pistons.

Are there scratches in the bores? Thats the most important part for the seal. Pistons seal with the rings not the actual pistons themselves so you might be ok with a new set of rings.
