Default CHEAP HP GAIN FOR 351C

What else can i get for now just to add some hp fairly cheap. my motor is bone stock with the exception of big tube headers and exhaust. i dont want to spend alot of money in the motor right now to make it 400+. that will be another project someday once i rebuild the motor. i just want to slap one or two things on to make it a fair street racer. is there a reasonable intake kit for a 351c 2v with a mild cam?

i know alot of newmustangs and 5.0sdo cold air intake and swear up and down that it gives them a big increase in hp. can this be done for an old car or is it benificial?

Buy a edelbrock intake and carb for less then $500 and you will get a big boost in your power.

ok! i found a bunch of kits under summitracing.com for a 351c 2v but i have no clue what rpm range and such to go with. i would think since i have the 2v to go with a manifold that will grab and go from the take off. should i go with an air gap intake? whats dual plane mean?

in terms of the Cold air intake, for your car, assuming you have the huge blue air cleaner with the snorkel thing off to the side, you would benefit from a high flow air cleaner. A CAI would have to be custom fabbed and wouldnt add more hp then a high flow cleaner. Get a new cleaner thing where you can see the filter (if you get what im saying) and it should add decent hp. In Mustang Monthly they did a 2bbl to 4bbl swap and after dynoing that they put a less restrictive air cleaner on and it got like a 17hp increase.

wow. yeah ive already got the block chromed out with the cleaner, valve covers, ext.. now i just gotta add a wee bit more power

its got a 2b stock intake and carb now. so do you think a dual plane intake and around a 600-625cfm carb with a highflow cleaner filter will increase my hp 25+?

nice cam, carb, intake, headers and a lunati bracket master 2 cam then it will put you near 400hp then youll need a matching converter also

really think i would be around 400 with just that? i already got big tube shorty headers. i want to go with a weiand intake because i hear theyre the best of the best but maybe im wrong. what is a really good street setup manifold for a 351c 2v? theres so many types. xcelerator, torqer, ext....
also what carb to go with? i would like the buy the intake off ebay used and prob the carb new.

im a fan of edelbrock. not sure why exactly, it just seems like they make some high quality parts. I also hear holley is good, but the PO sold me the car under one condition: NEVER put a holley on the engine. Im not sure why he hated them so much, but just for kicks im gonna do what he said. It sounds like at this point an intake/carb is your best bet to increase hp.
