Default 69 fastback weight

What is the appoxiamte weight of a 69 fastback with a 351W and 4 speed tranny? How much more is it compared to a 65 fastback? I am debating about using fiberglass front fenders to lighten up the car a bit but am afraid of the fiberglass cracking after time.

If I remember correctly, a stock 1969 Mustang sportsroof weighs between 3,000 and 3,500 pounds - depending on options. 1965 - 2,600 pounds +/-.

both are light compared to most modern cars
glass hoods are readily available. fenders not so easy...try someone who races one.

+1 on the alum heads and intake.

I was going to run EFI on either engine I put in, I have a 351W out of a 96/97 F250 or a 302 out of a 93 mustang (with is where I am geting my EFI. I know the 351 has cast heads, I didn't look at the 302 because its buried right now. Is there any stock heads that fit that are alumium or am I better going aftermarket? Im not looking for performance as far as big power, I would like about 300hp on low octane gas so I don't think aftermarket will be worth the money. I am trying to not make the mistakes I made on my GTO and Challenger with Big block motors running a ton of power, eating a lot of gas. I am thring to build a light cruiser that is a pleasure to drive on a regular baises with som e long trips.

All the stuff about car weight cracks me up from a performance stand point. I know it works but there is a irony to it all.
I was amazed at how much faster and lighter my zx10 ninja felt after I lost 65 lbs my self.
makes me remember being @ the old Dalls ga drag strip and saw a guy pulling the rear seats and everything out he could and draining gas out to lose lbs.
He had to be 400+ himself all the stuff he took out didnt weigh as much as he did.
As I sit her sweating my tail off after a 30 min bike ride to get the lard back off my frame. LOL
