They were 4 built as marketing test cars. They all were highly optioned cars and one was even Shelby's ride around. Theyare 2375 thru 2378 and were used as factory pool cars for about 6 months. They were then sold at Shelby dealers as used cars. They are still registered and all have been restored. I'm not sure any are in open collections. I may have some photos of one that was in Flordia ifI did'nt trash them. A lady owned it andwanted to trade it for a newer model Corvette or 30,000 cash at a car show in Daytona. A friend of mine attended the show and brought me the photos and told me the story. I blew it off as being afake and didn'tcontact the lady only to find out a year later this was probably one of the four. Too little, too late. The following year my friend seen her again and ask about the car, she said she thought she had better keep it. That was about 8 or 10 tears ago. Talkin about amiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have collected a small library on Mustang's and Shelby's. Most of the info I postedis from the Shelby Registry. I also have the "Shelby Mustang" book. I am not too enthused by that one though as I'm not sure how accurate the info is. The Registry list the Verts by number and gives the original color. 6S2376 (yellow)and 7(red) were ordered with 4 speed trannys and 5 (green) and 8 (blue) with autos. Also 2376 had 10 spoke alloy wheels and a wood rim steering wheel. Hood pins and looks to have a molded hood scoop. The side scoops are non functional. Their is something about the hood scoops that was discussed years ago but I can't remember exactly what. These cars being prototypes for a possable run of 67's may of had both. According to the Registry, Shelbywasvery upset after returning from a business trip only to find out they had soldthe one hewas using. I'm not sureif anyone knows exactly how these cars were optioned and a lot is open for speculation. It list only 4.

The new registry has been coming out for years now. Seems like the cut off date was in 04 or 05. I have #2435 (68KR) and remains pretty much original (except the stripes) but have elected not tosend in the changefor the registry. Other than the ownership changes, I'm not sure what new they can print. Anyway, with the info, I should be able to put together a front suspension. I will have to find a column as the only one I have left is a tilt away for a 67. I will try to contact Open tracker next week also.
