I put an Edelbrock 1406 4bbl on mine. Yes, it has the electric choke, but I wrapped the wires in black electrical tape and hid them under the brace. I love it, the electric choke makes starting it nice. I also have an Edelbrock Performer intake, with an Edelbrock cam/lifter set on the rebuild I just finished (not sure of the number, could go out in the garage and get it if you really want the number). It is a very nice intake combo imho.

go slow ... if you have a 2barrel at the moment, then you'll have a 2barrell intake manifold
so either you get a 2barrell carb which is the cheaper route, or you go
4barrell intake manifold + 4barrell carb, which will be more expensive, more power and less gas mileage

can you make a picture of your carb with the aircleaner off, just to make sure

are you at CU? thats where im gonna go next year.

If i were you I would consider a new intake manifold and a 4 bbl. if you keep your foot out of the equation, its the same as a 2 bbl cuz it only uses the two barrels, but it is more powerful and will keep options open for other mods.
