67 frame rails

Default 67 frame rails

if anyone ever did front frame rails on a 67 mustang, did your measeure everything to exact measurement or is there a way to just make sure everything is sorda in place, that everything like fenders match up. please help me out, is there a trick?

No trick, you must make sure everything is lined up. No shortcuts here. It is very important that the frame rails are welded in correctly as everything will be affected if not. You don't want frame rails that are not straight and installed correctly. I replaced both of mine. As others here, I made a jig that the car sat on that lined up with the old frame rails. Once removed, the new ones were placed at the jig and lined up where the old ones came out. The fenders will be off the car, so that wont help as the fenders don't aligned off the frame rail. But do attach to other metal that attach to the rails.

ok in the begining i didnt make any sort of jig. should i bolt everything up to the frame rails, (steering box) and make sure everything lines up. should thattell me if everyitng is back to the way it should be?

Take good measurments, then do one side at a time, verifying all is where it should be...when you got one side 100%, go to the other side. If you remove both sides at the same time, you lose your reference points... just my .02 worth...
