Default disapointed

well i took my 70 out tonight to the show. Finally got her running and on the way back a 05 mustang v6 pulled up with straight pipes revin it upso i thought what the hell, ill race him. Well right when the light turned green i gunned it and my tires spun all the way to 2nd gear and he smoked me. I couldnt get the damn thing to take off because of the tires spinen and no traction. I was so pissed that i got my butt handed to me by a v6 and mines a 351c. so i really want to figure out how i can get my rear wheels to stick better and not spin. the 2v is pretty torqy and i thought i had enough tred on the tires but maybe not. Should i run some traction bars, and lower the rear to lower thecenter of gravityand maybe a tune up on the motor? I shouldnt get smoked by a v6, but then again his motor is only 3 years old and mines 38!

Slicks are only good on dry clean payment if the road is dirty you'll spin still.Yes traction bars are great maybe a stiffer or adjustable rear shocks. What gear is your rear end and what tranny you have.

Tru track gear driven LSD works great to provide equal traction to both tires if your running an open diff.

With the tru track you can improve overall traction but you can still break traction and this time it will be both wheels and you need to respect that and not act on impulse alone or it will be your last dance.

happy hunting

well its the fmx trans and i wanna say that its an 8" rear. the car was originally a inline6 so its probably the same rear. I dont like it tho because its got a very torqy gear but at higher speeds it doesnt kick into gear really quick. i guess i cant complain tho because the 351c 2v is all stock. I think maybe a small cam, intake, and carb would bring it to life.

well, you did race a stock low 15 second car with your mid 16 second one... so.. even if you got traction i doubt it'd of helped.

shouldn't feel bad, my pos with a ton of mods barely edged out a new 'california special' - but it was a female.. so that's why she ran a 15.2
