Default Electrical Issues

Hello

I'm new to the this forum and was just wondering someone could help me and my father out on a electrical problem we have been having with our 1970 Mach1 Mustang.

well to start we bought the car, and the people before us had butcher it with warped fibreglass doors crappy welding in floors and a huge mess and we've been trying to figure out what the hell they have done to this car,but now its almost road ready but just electrical crap has been holding us back..

first off the back up lights stay on at all times even when not in reverse.

we cant seem to find out where the tach plugs into.

thats all that I can think of at the moment but I'm sure theres going to be something else that will show up.

If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated

does it have an aftermarket shifter? is it stick or auto? are you running a msd box for an ignition or factory ignition? please give us more info.
