Default New to me 1973 Mach I

In a couple of days I get to pick up my next project. A 1973 Q code Mach I.

The engine is at the shop. It is already rebuilt with 1970 4v heads, it is supposed to be around 500 hp. I will have more info when I talk to the engine shop. Owner says he has $6000 in the engine? The C6 is built and ready to put in. Interior will need to be done. Body is pretty straight, but needs some work. It also comes with a lot of extra parts. I will know a lot more when I pick it up.

The engine is worth more thanI am paying for the whole thing.

I figured if I don't actually build the car I atleast have a full set of replacement parts for my car.

I will post pictures after I get it home.

I am going to pick it up today. I took the day off work. It will take a while to get everything home. There are a lot of extra parts that come with it, but it will take some time to sort through. The guy I am buying it from has been working on it for 7 years. The car is apart and needs to be put back together. He also has a '72 coupe that he has been using for parts. He says I can take anything off that car that I want except the front disc brakes. The brakes are promised to the guy that is storing the car for him. He has to move out of his house is the reason the other car is at a different place, and the reason for selling the Mach I.

I will see what the other car has for seat belts. I plan to take a lot of parts from the '72, some parts are hard to find.

Thanks ghettoct, good to hear from you again. Your next project sounds like a big one.

I got the engine in my shop now. Reciepts have labor alone at $2500. Shop verified 500hp!

C6 trans is in there too. PO told me it has a manual valve body. That might change.

The car is home, in pieces. I still need to pick up more. PO still wants to strip his '72 coupe and give me the parts.

'73 Mach I Q code, 351C with '70 4v heads, C6 auto, gold and black, fold down seat, tilt wheel, had AC.

It will need a lot of work, but it will be a fun project.

I will post some pix later.

I have been putting the car back together so I can see what is missing. So far not much. I still need to get back and get the rest of the parts though.

Do you know what color the car is. My first 73 mach was gold glow. Looks like a good project car. Makes mine look like junker compared to yours. Then again most cars in the junk yards look beter than mine

The Mach I is Gold Glow, and the Sportroof next to it was originally Gold Glow. My '69 Grande was originally Ivy Gold.

I think I am meant to have a Gold car.
