i LIVE in orlando. my 98 with under 85,000 miles on it, a few mods and in immaculate condition was only worth 3800. so it's easy to have that car totalled out, which sucks. :| $27000 for it new out the door, and only worth 3800 pisses me off. anyway

+1 i would pay no more than 1k for the entire car, honestly

hmm kelly blue book says a fair car is worth 4000, wont give me price on a poor car.

i was thinking 1000 for the motor, 500 for trans and 300 for the driveshaft and rear end.

should i lower my offer? i feel bad because what ever he gets for his car is going towards his next mustang.

when i say 1000, i mean the motor, the computer, the harnesses, accesory drives, probably the radiator, fuse box, motor mounts.

i dont want the whole car because then im stuck with a crashed sn 95 in my drivey way that i dont need anymore.

all i need is motor, trans, shaft, rear end.

thanks guys.

1. Evil. if i purchase the mustang II rack(which i was plannig for down the road, but figured the swap will make it nessecary.) i do not have to modify the tunnel correct? (very important in swaying family members) of course the shifter will need relocating but thats easy.

2.the motor is Non Power improved. and yes i would much rather put a 4.6 DOHC but we all know how expensive those are. but the great thing is he has a new set of Power Improved heads and cams that will (MFRS claim) bump it up to somwhere between 280-300 with a tune.

3.As for the expensive parts for a 4.6 motor i dont really belive that none sense. i owend a 4.6 before. and yes the parts are mroe money. but take into account that the 302 has been around for 40 years. also the 4.6 im putting in will be close to 300 hp at the crank. and my goal for this car is DD reliability and similar performance to a 99-04 GT. i dont believe they are more expensive. a good new carb is 300-500 dollars. a new throttle body is 200-300-400

more parts? yes. more complicated? if your old school yes. if your 18 and have experience with the motor no.

IE i want to target a ET of 13.5, i want to be in the power range between 280-320 which is quite possible with a PI motor and some bolt ons. which im quite familiar with.

obviously it wont handle like a new car, but if i put in the mustang II rack, along with four wheel discs and some 17s it should be alot better right?

-BIG QUESTION

what do i offer him for the complete drive train/ECU

what do i offer him for the seats. black leather, small tear in drivers seat.

for all those skeptical, i want to add that the cars not going anywhere for a while so i can purchase parts and make deposits on parts as i need.

Sorry to get off topic, but what part of orlando do you reside? I'm in Windermere S/W orlando

im not going to brag or anything. but if you know where to go, clermont has some of the best back roads driving any where in florida. some parts of clermont reminds me of north carolina and the mountains. lots of wooded curves and hills.

only the appalacians and the rockies can compete for pleasure driving in my opinion.
