Fastest I've gone in my 2005 GT is 138 mph. Never doing that again.Didn't get caught but It's one of those times you look back on and say,"why the hell did I do that?"

I have to get my 1968 running before I can take it to the track

I lived in Germany for three years, and had a little 1972 BMW 2002 Tii 2.0 liter that was fuel injected. It was a great runner and would run right at redline in 4th gear to 200 KPH (124 MPH) all day long, and I use to go that speed everyday back and forth to work on the Autobahn. I lived outside the base and had about a 30 KM drive each way. Needless to say I ran this route 100's of times. Of course, no speed limit, so cops weren't a problem. I've never gone much faster than 100 MPH in the states for fear of getting caught, but those were fun times.

Back in 1975, I was a back seat passenger in a 71 429 SCJ and watched the speedo needle peg out at 140, break, and go to zero again. I personally pegged 140 in my 1990 GT when it was stock.

I've been north of 160mph in a few cars over the years, but what sticks in my gut was a boat ride at 114mph. The only thing in the water was the screw.

I was scared schitless.

I was on the highway around Springer NM, which is straight as an arrow, and I was totally alone and opened her up. The needle went past the 120 mark and came around to the 20 before I let off. Stock suspension was brand new. This was in 97. I don't recommend it, the car had a floating feeling and no road feel what so ever. Very dangerous. It hasn't been past 90-95 since and very rarely.

I'm not sure exactly how fast that was, but it's as fast as I ever want to go.

I went to 100 in my old 2000... What I didnt want a ticket... Hahaha As for in my 67... oh about 70 or so is all I take it to at most. An accident in that thing wouldnt be good so I dont push it. I have lap belts, manual drums all around and manual steering so if something came up in front of me im screwed...
