347Stang, I haven't been on the website in a few days but you have a beautiful fastback. Did you post more pics in the new member section?

Welcome to the forums.

Because the block will go 4.185, and keep in mind ford doesnt build or machine any of those engines. And the warranty rate on the 347 with a boss block is astronomical, I roll my eyes when people who have never had experience with them, keep recommending them to friends.

why are they having warranty problems? and i still dont see the need to overbore a block that would machine up @ std bore.

Because that block has no cylinder skirt and a 3.400 crank pulls the piston way outta the cylinder and having no skirt to stabilize the piston, tears up the piston skirt. I have built a dozen 331's in this block, for a 331 the block is fine, for a 347, I wont build one regardless of the money someone would give me, because I dont want that phone call The last 2 blocks I hade came in at 3.998, that leave very little room to finish hone and keep taper and out of round to less than .0002 ten thousandths. So its 4.030, you got 4.040, 4.060, 4.125, 4.155, 4.185 and those are all shelf size pistons.

thats sad they wont clean up at std, and wtf was ford thinking not letting the block support larger stroker kits. they coulda extended the skirts and just notched them for rod clearance.

Believe me, me along with many others have called them, typical repsonses blah blah. Doesnt really matter the world and dart blocks are by far nicer pieces for 200 bucks more.

Any reason you want to build a 347? I know 347 strokers are all the rage right now, but a decent 351W will stroke up to 427. A Man O'War 351W Block will stroke up to 460 cubes! I'm not trying to be condescending, but why stroke an engine when they make a block with a larger stock displacement.
