It is also fantastic that we are getting real world testing and experience with different potential solutions. Thanks for posting the results and the process you are going through to get to the ultimate solution. This is helpful to everyone.

This thread stopped me from going down a possible wrong path and rethink the "Take an inch off for the T5 driveshaft" rule of thumb.
Clearly everyone has different measurements depending on their car and you need to measure to be sure. Thanks for sharing your efforts Gun

how much do you think I would have to slot the hole for the X-member to get 1/4 of a deg?

What is the best way to slot this hole that amount?

me being the other virbration problem. I checked on my transmission and there's no way I can push that further up. the angle is about 6 degrees down and if I lift the thing any further I'll hit the tunnel with a part of transmission right before the shifter. I only have a half inch gap there. maybe even less. So I'm going to try to bring the pinion a bit further up. shimming as well. i'd still end up with a transmission 6 down, but I might get the pinion to a solid 4 degrees up (from 1.5). any thoughts on that?
