Default Windshiels gasket and mldgs

Any recommendations on a supplier for the best fitting windshield rubber gasket and chrome mouldings on a 66 coupe. I see every aftermarket supplier has them but looking for someone that has purchased them and had a no problem fit. I hear that the chrome doesnt fit unless its OEM. Asking for some real advise.

Most gaskets are good. I got mine from CJ pony parts, it fit well.

One thing to do absolutely is to try and use your original moldings. Not only will they fit better but they are extremely thicker and more durable than the new ones. They are made really cheap and dent very easily. I think they are total junk. I bought them to replace the originals because mine were scratched a little and dirty, I thought some nice new molding will look great. They look great but installing them, they become dented very easily and you end up reusing the originals anyways. Just clean them up with some steel wool and chrome polish. I am, even with the few scratches I chose to live with because they still look better than some cheap recycle beer cans.

I'm also swapping my original mouldings back on since they fit better than the repops. I'd suggest using 0000 steel wool and some polish for the old trim. The repops do fit BUT if you want the edges to be perfectly lined up and no dents or dings from install use the old ones. I'd also suggest using the original trim clips since they are stronger than the repops. The gaskets are often licensed by Ford so I'd check with the supplier to confirm if theirs are.

he's right though- there are the USA made ones, and the Chinese made junk ones. I think the USA are about 20-30% more, but are definitely worth it- they fit much better.

CJ Pony Parts or California Muscle Parts should have it.

Same quality goes from door weatherstripping as well.
