Default Changing oil what weight?

I am getting ready to change the oil in my car for the Spring/Summer. I have been running conventional oil 20W/50 in it since day one without any issues. Don't want to go to synthetic. What do you guys suggest, sticking with the same grade of switching to a different grade?
See Signature for engine details.
Thanks

That's rather thick, especially for connecticut. Are you burning oil? Usualy I'd recommend 10W30 or 10W40.

Not it's not burning any oil. I put the motor in the car back in 1998 and maybe put 1,000-1,500 miles on it in the Summer. It does get warm here in the summer, but it's definitely not Arizona heat.

So far the consensus has been 10W-30 or 10W-40. Living in CT, the car is only driven from April-October. Otherwise it spends the winter in the garage and I do not even start it during the Winter months.

All the more reason for synthetic. I live in CT and run 10w-30 and will switch to synthetic once I reach a few thousand miles.

I run Valvoline VR1 SAE50 in the summer and SAE40 in the winter. That is in south Texas, though, where it regularly is over a 98*F air temp.

+1

If it's sitting for that long, you really should have synthetic in it. Dino oils attract moisture, which is one reason they need to be changed about ever 6 months. Synthetics don't have that problem, so you can leave it sitting all winter, then fire it up in the spring without worry.

Snakes,
Have you found any 10w-30 synthetic oil that has enough ZDDP for our cars? Please let us know the brand.
(Not sure if your any of your fleet has flat tappets so it may not be a problem).

So your opinion is?

I just feel that I'm not realizing the full potential of my engine!
