at the very least try to pick up a set of E7TE heads that have smaller chambers, the cores should be very very very cheap.

Well I can pick up a set of C9's or D0's for 300 from the local stang shop, but that is a little bit of a waste.

How would 8.6:1 run?

Any chance of simply waiting for the new heads for a month or so? Would make more sense to me.

I need to bring home my stock 79 351w heads next trip to sell. I have no idea what they are worth though. Same as the rest of the original parts from it.

We have been dating for 3 years in May. She has been bugging me about bopping the question for months now. I just didn't what to until I had a decent job secured.

I will be going with the stock heads for now. 8.6:1 doesn't sound like it would be THAT bad. If it is then I will just put the stang aside until I can get new heads.

It'll be perfectly driveable, and that roller cam will help keep dynamic compression up to improve low end torque and throttle response. That said, I bet you notice a huge difference when you bolt on a decent set of heads.

I figure a nice set of heads and good intake will really make it hop. It is just not in the cards.
