use the clothe material they use for custom audio enclosures. with that all youll have to do is build a frame, reinforce the areas where you want a cup holder, stereo, arm rest with opening below it etc. and then just go over it with resin. no fiberglass. Then take some bondo and smoothe it out and clean it up & paint it.

you just staple it in place to get the shape you want over the light frame you built and go from there.

Since you did so much already( a years work), It might be easier to do that since you already need to replace the quarter panels. You should be very proud on what you did on your mustang.

Unless you've found a donor top you estimation is way too low. You'll never get all new sheet metal to do the conversion for $600. The full quarters are $400 a piece.

"youll never be happy with what you want, unless your happy with what you have"

this is going to sound rude but whatever...i know you want a fastback but if you cant even finish restoring this convertible how do you know youll want to finish the fastback? you obviously wanted the convertible at some point, just like you want the fastback...dont be so greedy, enjoy what you have and be thankful...if you really dont want the convertible and want the fastback. then persevere and finish it then sell it, dont quit in the middle because quitting on this project (even though you said youve done 5 restorations before) makes it easier to quit on the next project
