bolting a 302 to engine stand bolt specs
In a couple of weekends I'm going to take the engine & trans out of my car to start working on them. Does anyone know what bolt sizes I need to mount a 302 to an engine stand?
This is probably a newb question, but I have searched and couldn't find an answer. I just want to be prepared as I can be when I pull it out.
Thanks,
k

I'm gonig on memory here but I think the head size on the bellhousing bolts are 5/8 which should mean the bolt size is 7/16 course. The length will depend on your engine stand. You will need to meassure for that.

67 Pony is right, 7/16" course thread, which usually is a 5/8 wrench to fit.
You will need these to thread into the block between about a 1/4" to 1/2".
Any grade 7/16" bolt will be just fine to support a SBF, but for my comfort, I like a minimum of grade 5.
