Question...need answer pretty quick
I am going to look at some heads a guy has for sale local.
They are GT40's off a Cobra 5.0...number F3ZE-AA
I am assuming (like he says) these are not the P models and will work on a '66 if I were to build a 302 for it?

F3ZE-AA is the correct casting number for GT40 (non p) heads, and yes they should be a bolt on replacement. They may have GT cast near the plugs or 3 bars cast at the end. Check you eBay auction 110374217641 for pictures.

Well...the guy drove over this way and I bought them for about $500...he recently had $600 worth of work done to them and had them mildly ported. He knew he was taking a loss but needed the cash.
I will have to do something about the Chevy orange, LOL!
Here's the pictures:
The day before yesterday I found another guy having a new baby and cleaning out the garage. He sold me a Weind stealth intake, valve covers, HEI type distributor and the Accel wires new in the box.
Here's a picture of the intake and valve covers
I already have a Holley carb so now all I need to find is a short block and some other odds and ends but I am getting there.

The distributor was pretty much brand new, never been installed along with the wires and valve covers. The stealth intake was installed at one time but appears to be pretty clean so must be pretty low miles....got all that for about $200.
Now I just need to find a 302 and figure out what cam to put in it. I know a local engine builder that can help me out with that if I go that route. I might just buy a 302 block and put it together myself to keep the costs down. There is a local guy that has had an ad on the local Craigs List several times in the past for a cleaned / magnafluxed, etc bare block for $325. But the assembly doesn't cost that much and it would be nice to have a warranty.
The guy that sold me the heads gave me the paperwork from this place (http://theheadshopracing.com/) that did the work on the heads....I have a couple of charts they gave him where they tested the flow before and after porting and I must admit I haven't exactly figured out the charts yet but it should help when selecting other parts for a build.

Pick yourself up a roller 5.0 motor to build. You should be able to find one in a junkyard without much trouble. '85 and up cars (not trucks) are pretty easy to find. If you can find an '88+ 5.0 HO, you could even swipe the EFI system.
